Missions Projects - Metro Community
Metro Community Church supports a downtown Kelowna ministry, Metro Central, corner of St. Paul and Coronation Ave. New Life Church has supported Metro Central for the past several years. In its present form, Metro Central exists to minister to those experiencing homelessness. It offers a place of warmth, rest, and safety from the often exhausting life on the streets. Breakfast and lunch is served daily except Saturday. The Courtyard offers shade out of the hot sun in the summer, and has heaters for winter. It is also a gathering place, where one will often see games of Cribbage, or guys shooting the basketball. Metro Central also hosts a Hygiene Centre where members can have a shower, can do laundry, and can often interface with other community resources – medical, addiction services, and mental health help. As we believe this is where Jesus would serve, we are proud co-sponsors of METRO Central services. To volunteer in person or to supply a weekly meal, please contact John at jbrinker@shaw.ca
